Carlos Arias Castro

— Background

Carlos Arias Castro is professor of chemistry at STEM High School. Since 1999 he is full-time professor/researcher at Instituto Tecnológico de Tlajomulco, Jalisco. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemical sciences from University of Guanajuato, a master’s degree in biotechnology from Instituto Politécnico Nacional (CINVESTAV), and a doctorate in plant biotechnology from the University of Sheffield, England. His research interests are plant chemistry, physiology and biochemistry focused on biotechnology. Currently, he works on the biochemical control of secondary metabolites from hydroponic and aeroponic crops using LED light.
